The university continues to implement changes to the General Faculties Council (GFC) and its subsidiary bodies in response to MacEwan’s placement in Part I of the Post-secondary Learning Act as an Undergraduate University.

Since responsibility for academic governance moved to the Office of the Provost in July, several initiatives have been implemented. One of these is the launch of the GFC website which will house, among other things, monthly updates about the progress of the GFC’s development.

The first of these updates provides an overview of the changes to date and those in progress, including GFC membership, meeting schedule, standing committees and the role of Faculty and School Councils.

The website also hosts a copy of the Marshall Report, a high-level guide for the university’s implementation of the PSLA changes.

Watch MacEwan Today for notices about future monthly updates about the GFC.
